honestly, the issue here is more that they didn't get the chance to open up to each other willingly about it as it was forced by a third party and only one side got the information. not only is it a blatant violation of souma's and his wive's privacy, but it also puts all the pressure of opening up solely on the girls while also potentially reducing his trust in any of them.
